Greetings to our fellow South Shore 1959 classmates from Tom Benshop
and Jim Eaton;
Jim and I got together for a mini-reunion on June 12, 2009.
The afternoon we spent talking about old times was entirely too short. It was
close to the full 50 years since Jim and Tom had last seen each other.
It would have been at the end of the Summer of 1959 when we finished working
as lifeguards at Rainbow Beach. Jim and I were friends through Horace Mann, Boy
Scout Troop 520, SSHS swim team and Rainbow Beach lifeguarding just to name a
few. I know that the idea that we would not see each other for 50 years after
the end of that summer never entered our minds.
Our thanks to the Reunion Committee for getting Jim off the "Missing" list
that he was on for previous reunions.
Jim's wife Kathleen prepared a wonderful casual lunch on short notice, despite
also needing to prepare to show her paintings at the Old Town Art Fair.
